My favorite part of wedding planning is having the opportunity to be a part of creating a day that reflects the unique story of each couple I work with. There are few couples that I have felt more connected and a part of their story than I had with Luke & Katarina. Katarina had been a dear friend for a few years before she and Luke began to date. Getting to know her and her desires for her future husband over the years made watching this couple unite in marriage that much sweeter, seeing Luke as wonderful provision for all of her past expressed hopes. Together they are a perfect balance of loyal, kind-hearted, faithful, and insanely fun to be around.
When we began planning their wedding day, they expressed that creating a sense of connectedness amongst the attendees was their main priority- wanting everyone to feel like one big family. I loved that vision, and really kept it in mind as I helped guide decisions for all the decor elements and flowers. Their day started out with a beautiful outdoor ceremony, dawning gardens in the background- and moved on to a cozy reception in a tent overlooking the Potomac River. Their tables were covered in grey linens with jasmine vine and garden roses, and the tent was covered in long strands of vintage string lights. The food was definitely a hit of the evening, as people could not stop raving about it. The evening came to a close with a killer party and dancing to some great tunes. We here at the Society wish nothing but the best to this fantastic couple and we were so grateful to be a part of making their wedding day a success.
