Type A Society

Type A Society is a group of passionate art directors,  wedding designers, prop and product stylists who share a common obsessed-with-the-details, Carpe Diem trait that we affectionately refer to as Type A. We love obsessing over the right font, debating the subtle differences between hundreds of paint swatches, and finding just the right textiles to mix and match. From our youth, we were that sister who decorated the table for Thanksgiving, plucked flowers from our neighbor’s garden, and did that friend’s wedding which turned into ten more because we just could not get enough of that creative high. Over the years we have come to fully embrace our Type A-ness and band together to pour all of our energy into this little society, which owns a big part of our hearts. From editorial campaigns, weddings and styling events big and small, we put a personal stamp on everything we do. We are creative down to our core and have been known to loose track of time finding just the right color of peony in mid-July in Puerto Rico for a wedding (almost impossible) or scouring the web for the perfect hand-blocked fabric from India for a editorial. We don’t stop until we have found or made those treasured items for your wedding or product campaign.

We are real girls, with real lives – mamas, daughters, and sisters, living fully and loving to curate editorials, weddings and design scenes and atmospheres that highlight the uniqueness of each of our clients. We strive for clean and simple aesthetics in campaigns and weddings design and love pairing the subtle natural elements with the bold and bright.  So, since we are Type A when it comes to the details, we’ve got your wedding design, editorial campaign covered with design, décor, props, and styling.

Welcome to The Society!! We are so glad you’re here!

Forager, mother to two miracles, ardent flower maiden, artisan of atmospheres, hostess maven, travel adventurist, grateful daughter, wife to a mountain man, sister to three, sincere, and loyal

She could be found decorating and throwing tea parties for her baby dolls at the age of six, so you could say she was born with the party bug. After working four years for various florists, wedding planners, and corporate firms in the Washington, DC area, she went on to complete her education in Event Management and establish Fleurish Events in 2009, which has grown and gone on to become the successful brand of Type A Society, founded in 2014. When asked, she won’t admit that she color-coordinates her closet or carries around an old-fashioned day-planner, and she may or may not have painted one wall of her room five times to find the right color of grey. There has never been a flower she hasn’t liked and her husband, on many occasions, has been politely asked to “STOP THE CAR!!” so she can forage some wild flowers that have caught her eye.

Her work has been featured in Martha Stewart Weddings, The Knot, Brides, People Magazine and more. She is passionate about encouraging creative entrepreneurs to build authentic brands that strive to serve their fellow man and create beauty in a sometimes ugly and dark world.  She has been asked to speak at creative conferences about how she has built Type A Society on a shoestring, from the middle of nowhere to be well recognized and respected in the industry.
