Kate Whitcomb Shoes

by typeasociety

I’m blissfully reminiscing on this California Editorial Production for the luxury shoe company Kate Whitcomb Shoes!

Kate started her amazing business to create gorgeous yet comfortable wedding shoes for the modern bride. After graduating college, she worked for several brands and retailers in New York but eventually was ready for a change. Kate always enjoyed designing beautiful shoes and was ready to create something more meaningful to her. She keeps today’s modern women in mind when devising ideas for her shoes. It makes Kate proud to create wedding ware that brings her ideal clients joy.

The moment Kate asked me to be her stylist, I was bursting with ideas. As I began creating her vision for the editorial campaign, I knew this would be a great shoot. Being a wedding stylist, I wanted to incorporate several looks for Kate Whitcomb Shoes. When constructing this design, the words light, and classic came to mind. The varying textures of wedding dresses, like tulle and lace, would enhance the shoe’s appearance. Finding the magic piece takes trial and error, but once that one detail comes to light, the entire editorial is set.

Location for Kate Whitcomb Shoes | Sunstone Winery

In Santa Ynez, California, Sunstone Winery was the perfect location for this California editorial production. It was imperative to get photos from every scenario in which Kate Whitcomb Shoes work, so we created ten different looks. These shoes aren’t just for brides to wear for their wedding day; they are also available for bridesmaids. As the wardrobe stylist, I selected dresses for the bridesmaids that complemented each shoe.

A top wedding photographer, Jose Villa captured many stunning moments for Kate Whitcomb Shoes. Together, we produced a variety of styles and captured over fifteen different shoes. When planning each of my editorial productions, it’s rewarding to see everything finalized and come together. The photos that Jose Villa collected were breathtaking.

Kate Whitcomb Shoes are now one of the top brands to get comfortable wedding shoes. We collaborated on this production when she first launched her dream business. It’s incredible to see how successful Kate’s business has become over the years, and I’m thrilled to have gotten the opportunity to work with her!

Objective:

We were able to launch the Kate Whitcomb brand styling 16 looks with over 15 shoes showcased and placed her on the map as a luxury wedding shoe designer.
