Anne Barge 2023 Spring Collection Editorial

I loved working alongside Anne Barge’s director, Shawne Jacobs, for the launch of the Anne Barge 2023 spring collection. Shawne saw a one-on-one wedding editorial that I produced in South Carolina for Marshall Arts Photography, and she loved how I styled the gowns and coordinated all the colors. Once Shawne approached me for the spring 2023 collection, I brought her some de Gournay wallpaper that I was inspired by. We both adored the fine attention to detail of de Gorunay’s hand-painted wallpapers that have graced many homes. We agreed that their style was very aligned with the Anne Barge brand. They were delighted to join our team after asking de Gournay to collaborate with us for the Anne Barge 2023 spring collection. They sent us a 16-foot wallpaper set for the shoot that we then built and placed wainscoting on. This wallpaper backdrop was incredible and everything we had envisioned!

When creating the inspiration for this editorial, I knew we needed to get powerful bridal portraits that would showcase the incredible dresses brand new to the Anne Barge collection. I didn’t want a background that would be too busy or overwhelming, and de Gournay’s wallpapers were the perfect balance. In the mood board I created, I pictured very soft pink and blues throughout the editorial.

Blue hues carried through the theme for the first part of the shoot. The second part used blush tones with colorful hand-painted fruit and birds on the wallpaper. I also had us frame the models against the stunning thick velvet drapes. All the gowns would look awe-inspiring because Anne Barge creates the most beautiful dresses. The final result blew me away once we staged them against the background, and everything came together.

Our next step was to move outside to the rolling gardens to give people a sense of what the dresses would look like on a wedding day. Blooms By Melly provided unique bouquets for us to use throughout the session. Our Modern Romance, the photographer for this editorial, was incredible to work with, and they captured everything we were hoping for.
